Easy to learn! Easy to teach! The Alabama Stock Market Game (SMG) is an exciting 10-week, on-line trading experience. Students begin with $100,000 and may purchase stocks, bonds, and mutual funds and make any number of trades with their available funds. The teams with the most valuable portfolios at the end of the 10 weeks win their division. Learn to play before you teach! Who plays?

§  Grades 4-12

§  Public and private schools, home schooled, and non-profit youth organizations

§  11,000 students at over 200 schools in 2010-11

Registration: Register for the SMG at www.stockmarketgame.org

Cost:  $15/team or $13.50/team if 5 or more teams. Limited number of need-based scholarships are available.

Divisions:  Grades 4-8 and 9-12 play in separate divisions; state divided into North and South.

Teams:  One to five students per paying team; four to five students per scholarship team.

Prizes:  Top teams receive drawstring backpacks. Amount of cash prizes subject to sponsorship.

Participation prizes:  Students and teachers have a chance to win random prizes regardless of portfolio value.

Training and Curriculum materials:  All free and correlated to Alabama State standards. Lesson plans for every subject and grade level including:
